David Darin was appointed Interim Chief of the Kohler Police Department on November 1, 2018 after being Lieutenant of the department since September 17, 2001. Interim Chief Darin has held prior law enforcement positions at the local, state and federal level.  He has been serving in law enforcement since 1981.

Interim Chief Darin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Criminal Justice major and a minor in Political Science.

Interim Chief Darin is a State Licensed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a certified American Heart Association CPR Instructor. He coordinates the training and certification/licensure issues relating to Emergency Medical Services in the Village.

Interim Chief Darin is a member of the Lakeshore Technical College EMS Advisory Committee, the National Tactical Officers Association, the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, and the Wisconsin EMS Association.
